About Us
My passion for home cooked food is one that is deeply ingrained, passed down to me through generations of formidable women in my life. Over the years these special moments and the sharing of recipes has imprinted a deep passion for food, cooking and the kitchen that is my sanctuary. The recipes shared with me have made my kitchen a place to welcome a constant circle of family and friends for home cooked meals with cultural influences from the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
In 2012, a time when independent cafes were only just emerging in Dubai, I established Roseleaf to offer an experience without pomp and circumstance. A combination of café (a nod to the traditional dishes) and a sort of laid-back eating experience that offers the gustatory nirvana that is easy on your pocket. All fuelled by the best specialty coffee I could source locally and roasted especially for us every week.
My philosophy is simple: I believe in offering fresh, quality, healthy, crafted goodness that is kind on your wallet. It is not necessarily about a menu, or a chef. It’s the spirit that is important: creating a communal experience, of a neighbourhood, or recognition, of conviviality, of spontaneity and just being able to drop in. We do what tastes good. We take influences from everywhere if they are the right technique for the ingredient and the dish. We get inspired by what is available seasonally and cooking application that works best with it. We are sure you will find that we’ve managed to create something magical to your taste.
